Wax Museum in Sri Lanka 2


The 'Live wax statues' exhibition which has wax statues created by Athula Herath and his son Mahima Herath was opened by  Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa at the National Art Gallery in Colombo on 9th May. President Mahinda Rajapaksa also visited the exhibition.



The exhibition displays 14 wax statues of artistes, national heroes and world renowned figures including wax sculptures of Malini Fonseka, Ravindra Randeniya, W.D. Amaradewa, Victor Rathnayake,
Sunil Edirisinghe, Mahendra Perera, Dr. Carlo Fonseka, Prof. Sunil Ariyaratne, Bruce Lee, Guevara,
King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe, Ehelepola Kumarihami, Maddumma Bandara and Keppitipola Nilame.

Sri Lanka won the 2014 T20 World Cup



Sri Lanka won the 2014 T20 World Cup after defeating India by six wickets in the final.
Legends Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene were playing their last game of the shorter format and they finished their T20 career on a high, both playing instrumental roles in Sri Lanka's success.
Sangakkara and Thisara Perera finished the match with three boundaries in the 18th over, sealing a landmark victory for their country.
Sangakkara remained unbeaten till the end on 52, while Perera scored 23 off 17 balls, which included three sixes.
